About Us
Carson City RV Park is loaded with history as the campground has existed for more than 100 years. In 1914, the North Michigan Conference of the United Brethren in Christ Conference rented the land for $15 for their Annual Conference. Between then and 1920, the land was purchased by them and the Tabernacle was built. (The floor was sand initially. Cement wasn’t added until 1940!) After that, the property was used as a summer camp for children. Can you imagine 150 children at camp at the same time? As needed, dormitories were added, a cafeteria, a pavilion and campsites for those who wanted to sleep in a tent.
While at camp, the children participated in many activities. In addition to a morning visit to the tabernacle, there were sports and crafts and campground clean-up when necessary. In 2005 and 2006, the children made 4 train cars, still at the park as part of the playground. Just after that, the group (with the help of one of the pastors) made a fire engine which has been restored and sits at the entrance to the park today.

Today, the campground (RV Park) is made up of 33 sites which are nestled in the woods and provide peace and relaxation, as camping should be. Guests are surrounded by towering trees and so much nature. Take a walk thru the 26 acres of woods where you will see many deer and other animals and birds who have made this their home.
